In collaboration with the theater D22

Lyrics L othar Kittstein
Director Frank Heuel
With Can Kulan, Berkay Ateş, Emir Çubukçu

Premiere 01 October 2016, Istanbul

SEE THE WORLD THROUGH MY EYES / DÜNYAYA GÖZLERIMDEN BAK is the first production Frank Heuel worked on in Istanbul with three Turkish actors from Theater D22. He brought the texts for his production with him from Germany. In three monologues, the Bonn author Lothar Kittstein opens up unusual perspectives on the phenomenon of war. The protagonists are all war actors: a border guard, a drone pilot, and a war veteran – degenerate to the point of beast, incapable of social contact, helplessly at the mercy of normal life.

Istanbul’s D22 theater had lost its venue in 2016. The team found a congenial stage for this play: an old Armenian wooden house with its empty and abandoned rooms offered perfect spaces for the stories of the unhoused. In Bonn and Münster, the audience can expect a similarly condensed spectator situation.

The performance will be held in Turkish with German surtitles for the performances in Germany.
