From 05 September the CITY STORIES app will be available

here

for download.

In the spring of 2022, a team from the fringe ensemble was out and about in the city – in the city center, in Beuel, Poppelsdorf and Kessenich – and asked citizens to spontaneously tell a personal story that they had experienced in a place in Bonn and to donate it to the CITY STORIES project. From the large number, 50 stories were selected, which you can now listen to at the locations with an app developed by the fringe ensemble for the smartphone – spoken by actors*.

The app guides you through parts of the Bonn city area to various places and locations. By simple navigation you will find there signs designed by us. Within a few meters of the signs, you will then hear stories via your smartphone or tablet that have taken place at that exact location. All the stories were donated by citizens of Bonn. You will learn surprising, funny, touching and definitely new things about the history of our city.

CITY STORIES is based on the idea that city history is fed by the stories of its inhabitants and is part of the reinvention of the Stadtmuseum Bonn, which sees itself as an open place by all and for all. We want to enter into a dialogue about life in Bonn. It’s your city, your story!

The app will be generally accessible from September 05 and is available

here

for download. At the same time a

homepage

was created, which archives the city stories like a library and makes them accessible – and remains open for ever new stories.
