Composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist, is known for his theatre, television and radio play compositions as well as his releases on the Cologne electronic label “Kompakt”. For his project Gregor Schwellenbach plays 20 years of Kompakt, he received the renowned VIA! VUT Indie Award 2014.

He has composed music for over 50 theatre productions, such as the world premiere of Elfriede Jelinek’s Aber sicher! at the Theater Bremen, as well as for radio plays, television and cinema films.

He has arranged for top 10 artists such as Maxim or Alligatoah and for the WDR Funkhausorchester, conducted symphonic ambient music in the Buenos Aires Opera House, given concerts in Cologne Cathedral and had several club hits as partner of the techno producer “Kölsch”. Gregor Schwellenbach is also a lecturer in pop arrangement and ensemble playing at the Folkwang University of the Arts.

He has been working with the fringe ensemble for many years, using vocal and instrumental, electronic and acoustic, live and produced music. Among other things, he developed his specially composed music theatre evening Zucker and the music for Goran Ferčec’s play Arbeitsschlachten with the ensemble. He is currently developing “Drones – a drone opera” with three ensemble members for the fringe ensemble.
