Glowing dolphins, earthquakes, ocean storms, an encounter with an elk or a breathtaking silence on a volcano… – the new spoken word piece tells of the relationship between man and nature from many perspectives. For WE ARE NATURE, the members of the ensemble talked about their memories of unforgettable nature experiences and what they triggered in them. From these stories, we have developed a piece that makes us feel something of what connects us to nature, what inspires us or even makes us feel awe.
The fringe ensemble founded the International Speech Choir Bonn in 2017. The choir is formed anew for each project. Some members stay, new ones can be accepted. The ensemble is characterized by its diversity: It includes people of different ages, backgrounds, education and experience, world views and religions. Many of them have lived in different countries and cultures and are transcultural personalities in our diverse urban society. And so there is also linguistic diversity in the ensemble. The sixteen members of this fifth project come from seven nations and speak German, Portuguese, Basque, Spanish, Chinese, English and Turkish.
Funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and Soziokultur NRW.
A cooperation with Museum Koenig Bonn.
