A co-production of the fringe ensemble with Kaivalya Plays, New Delhi (IN)

RAUM : RAAH is the first co-production with Kaivalya Plays New Delhi (IN) and the result of mutual visits. The project is dedicated to social, cultural and political aspects of public space based on joint research and material collections – conversations and interviews, recorded sound and image material, as well as live videos and sounds in and from both cities.

We ask and research: How do people in the two cities of Bonn and New Delhi, which could hardly be more different in terms of their history, size and culture, see, experience and use public space? What ownership claims exist, what boundaries are claimed or disregarded? How are public spaces in the two cities/countries shaped by the communities that inhabit them and vice versa?

The production will create a hybrid performance space for the transcontinental performance, in which stories, positions, artists and audiences from both countries will meet and interact. In New Delhi, impressions from Bonn will be shown in the ballroom, while impressions from New Delhi will be sent to India at the same time.
