Our world is rushing. Nonstop. We can hear this noise everywhere, whether at home or in public, whether in the digital world or in our heads. The stream of information, messages, images, sounds does not stop and results in a multiform noise of speech, images and sounds. Depending on the individual mood and concrete world situation, it seems to be primed sometimes light, sometimes dark, sometimes quiet, sometimes loud.

The fringe ensemble is dedicated to this contemporary phenomenon with an international team of artists from Turkey, Switzerland, Burkina Faso and Germany. They are able to elicit a great deal from the noise of the world. The result is an evening that oscillates between fascinating overload of the senses and intoxicating enjoyment of images, sounds and language(s), and makes one thing perceptible: the noise of the world flows through us like a wild river, carries us along, is the elixir of life, demands and gives energy.

From the press reviews

Frank Heuel succeeds with the piece “Rauschen” a clairvoyant look at the present. …a remarkable performance in every aesthetic and intellectual respect.
General-Anzeiger, Bonn

We have become addicted to content, addicted to information, addicted to action. To consciously move the viewer into surrender to this very intoxication, while at the same time providing for reflection – Frank Heuel achieves this in “Rauschen” with fascinating formal and visual language.
Bonn Review

… incredibly gripping images and soundscapes. As a dramatic installation of fragile moments, the production creeps under the skin, makes you shiver and yet, despite everything, hope that everything will turn out differently.

Press comments

Frank Heuel’s production tirelessly celebrates the moment. Here and now, indestructible hope flashes. […] As a dramatic installation of fragile moments, the production creeps under the skin, makes you shiver and yet, despite everything, hope that everything will turn out differently. (schnüss, Christoph Pierschke)

Director Frank Heuel has worked with an international ensemble to create an exciting performance that constantly puts one’s own perception to the test. … A breathtaking work of art is again the set by Annika Ley, who enlivens the complex spatial installation with fabulously precise projections and even inscribes a face on a melting slice of ice. … a remarkable performance in every aesthetic and intellectual respect. (General-Anzeiger Bonn, Elisabeth Einecke-Klövekorn)

However, the result impresses not only with aesthetically top-class sound and stage design. The Bonn fringe ensemble performs with an international cast, with artists from Turkey, Burkina Faso, Switzerland and Germany. They talk in several languages about politics and society, about climate change, Brexit, arms exports, nationalism and the harshness in our performance system trimmed for efficiency. To this end, Heuel skillfully employs elements from absurdist theater and performance art and combines them with the most modern audiovisual possibilities. … We have become addicted to content, addicted to information, addicted to action. To consciously move the viewer into surrender to this very intoxication, while at the same time providing for reflection – this is what Frank Heuel manages to do in “Rauschen” with fascinating form and visual language. (Bonner Rundschau, Barbara Franke)
