nexus is growing!
In October 2018, we launched the Kurdish-German theater network nexus was founded. The idea was born in the collaboration of Frank Heuel (fringe ensemble, Bonn) and Mirza Metin (Şermola Perfomans, Istanbul).
We would like to bring Kurdish and German theater makers together and offer a platform to Kurdish theater makers living in Germany: The archive is growing continuously! Anyone who would like to attend can contact Hicran Demir (mail@nexus-theatre.net).
We kicked off our joint work in the fall of 2018 with a multi-part workshop series. More workshops will be held this year. On the homepage

In a performative reading we will show the results of our joint work so far. This dealt with questions of artistic home, the search for forms of collaboration, dealing with different theatrical traditions and multilingualism on stage.
In Kurmancî and German, we present texts by nexus authors Maja Das Gupta, Volker Lüdecke, Mirza Metin, Wajiha Said, Ulrike Syha and Helim Yusiv, which were created in dialogue and exchange in one of the workshops, with a Kurdish-German ensemble.
