Theater evening based on autobiographical texts by 14 women from Bonn

In cooperation with the Katholisches Bildungswerk Bonn and the association Kreuzung an St. Helena

4 Bonn women take part in a writing workshop in the fall of 2007 under the title WIR UNVOLLENDETEN, led by the author Lothar Kittstein. 14 women try to put their lives into words. They write it down as memory drives it onto the paper – 100 little episodes, dialogues, short and short stories.

With: Bettina Margugg, Georg Lennarz

They write it down as memory drives it onto the paper – 100 little episodes, dialogues, short and short stories.

The texts are read, collected, handed in; no more room to change, improve, condense. Exciting, touching, sometimes disturbing biographical snapshots emerge – documents of 14 unfinished lives.

From the nearly 200 pages of text, Kittstein develops a text version for a theater evening, a collage similar to a piece of music. In it, 14 different voices come together to form an imaginary whole. A lively mosaic of postwar Germany.

We thank photographer Josef Snobl for the portrait photographs.

WIR UNVOLLENDETEN takes place as part of the series GESCHICHTEN FÜR DAS NEUE JAHRHUNDERT, a cooperation project of theaterimballsaal Bonn, Forum Freies Theater Düsseldorf and Theater im Pumpenhaus Münster and is sponsored by the Minister President of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
