LooLooLoop – our first joint production with CocoonDance, released for the ballroom anniversary. Lothar Kittstein wrote the piece especially for the occasion.

It’s wedding day. He is on his way home from a business trip, she is standing at the living room window, looking out into the twilight, waiting. A day like it comes every year, many years already. He brings champagne and flowers, she cooked. He puts on the music they met to and have been putting on every time since, many years now. But something is wrong. Have twelve months really passed since the last feast? It seems like yesterday. What is that animal running across the country road through the headlights? Why is the clock in the living room ticking so loudly? Gradually it becomes apparent that beneath the seemingly reliable surface of the anniversary lurks a nightmare: the eternal return of the same old…

Kittstein has written several pieces for the fringe ensemble – also in international projects and for performative events. He has now written his new text, which oscillates between black humor and tragedy, especially for this first joint work by fringe ensemble and CocoonDance, on the occasion of the ballroom’s twentieth anniversary.

A production of LooLooLoop GbR/fringe ensemble/CocoonDance. Sponsored by: Ministry for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sports of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Federal City of Bonn and Matrong Cultural Foundation.
